Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MedSurg) - Travel/Contract

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)

Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00pm - 7:30am), including weekdays and weekends

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - MedSurg (5S MedSurg Unit)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-7
• Experience Required: Minimum 2+ years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• EMR System: Cerner
• Schedule: Blocked schedule; unit will try to accommodate traveler requests but cannot guarantee
• Scrubs Provided: No

Required Certifications

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC for ER RNs) but not mandatory for this MedSurg role

All certifications must be current and on file prior to start; no pending certifications allowed.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of RN license verification
• Candidate profile including work history
• Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
• Minimum 2 clinical or manager/charge references within the past year
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and education verification
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Proof of I9, E-Verify, and other standard employment documents
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual updates)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, preferred)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug screening: 10-panel within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific learning modules including Cerner EMR training prior to orientation
• Completion of ReadySet (RS) health assessment surveys prior to start
• Photo for badge prior to clearance
• Attendance expectation: Facility tolerates only 2-3 call-offs per contract due to prior attendance issues

• Cerner EMR training modules are assigned and tracked by the facility; candidates are expected to complete these before orientation.
