Job Opportunity: RN - OR (Travel)

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Surgery, Medicine 3
• Setting: Operating Room with 5 ORs
• Staffing:

  • 5 Full-Time RNs (including Manager and Boardrunner)
  • 2 Part-Time RNs (one on FMLA)
  • 3 PRN RNs (4 open FT positions)
  • 12 Surgical Techs
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 manager, 3 RNs, 1 day/evening nurse two days a week, 1 attendant, 12 techs
  • Evening Shift: 1 nurse on call, 1 evening nurse until 7pm two nights a week
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Equipment: Basic OR equipment including cautery, video monitors, arthroscopy equipment, positioning equipment
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills & Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Operating Room (OR)
• Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year in specialty
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Required Skills:

  • OR circulator experience
  • Ability to fulfill rotating call schedule (minimum one weeknight call per week and one weekend call per 5-week schedule)

Preferred Skills

• Experience in any of the following specialties is preferred:

Work Schedule & Call Requirements

• Call Rotation: Weeknight and weekend call rotation required

  • At least one night call per week
  • At least one weekend call per 5-week schedule
