Job Opportunity: Apheresis RN Traveler

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Experience

• Specialty: RN Apheresis
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year of apheresis nursing experience
• Additional Experience:

  • Therapeutic plasma exchange
  • Red cell exchange
  • Leukocyte reduction
  • Stem cell collection
• Traveler Experience: 3-6 months of travel experience preferred (not strictly required)

Work Schedule

• 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• One day off during the Monday-Friday workweek
• Shift times: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• 2-3 on-call shifts per month required

Credential and Compliance Requirements

• Professional license verification (MA nursing license with primary source verification; conditional licenses not accepted)
• Recent color photo (within 6 months) meeting specific guidelines
• Fit test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30)
  • TB test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot within 3 months of start date
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity preferred
  • Tdap vaccine preferred (within 10 years)
• Physician health statement within 365 days of start date
• Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender check, and exclusion checks
• Submission of resume with past 7 years of work experience
• Two recent professional references (minimum one supervisor or above)
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit test required

Summary

This is a long-term travel RN position specializing in apheresis nursing with a minimum of 1 year of specialty experience required. The role involves complex procedures such as therapeutic plasma exchange and stem cell collection. The schedule is primarily weekdays with 10-hour shifts and some on-call responsibilities. Compliance with extensive credentialing, immunization, and background check requirements is mandatory prior to onboarding. Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
