Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical experience (including Level 1 trauma center experience)
  • EPIC experience required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA) certification required
• Prior Travel Experience:

  • Not specified (no indication that prior travel experience is required)

Job Details

• Unit:

  • 15-bed medical/surgical admissions unit
  • Patients are those ready to be discharged from the ER but not yet assigned to a specific unit
• Duties:

  • Perform initial admissions and provide care until patients are transferred to their new unit
• Equipment Used:

  • EPIC electronic health record system
  • Zebra phones for communication
  • Omnicell medication dispensing system
  • Aleris IV pumps

Schedule & Work Environment

• Shift:

  • 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday
  • No on-call required
• Floating:

  • May float to other medical/surgical units as needed
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

  • 5:1 during day shifts
  • 6:1 during night shifts
• Dress Code:

  • Navy blue scrubs

• New medical/surgical unit with a specific orientation and training program
