Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 16 weeks (approximately 4 months)

Job Description
- Work in a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit (14 & 15W James) specializing in Oncology and mixed acuity PCU and MS units.
- Patient diagnoses include:
- Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)
- Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult)
- Amyloidosis
- Aplastic Anemia
- Chronic Leukemia (CLL, Myeloid)
- Hodgkin's Lymphoma
- Multiple Myeloma
- Myelodysplastic Syndrome
- Myeloproliferative Disorders
- Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
- Special procedures include:
- Autologous, Syngeneic, and Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplants
- CAR-T Therapy
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical (MS) and Oncology experience (higher experience requirement confirmed).
- Hematology-Oncology experience is strongly preferred.
- Chemotherapy certification is not required.
Certifications Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable)
Preferred Certifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
Skills Required
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Use of Rapid Response Teams
- Feeding tube care and management
- Blood product administration
- Central line blood draws
- Peripheral line care/management
- PICC line management
- Nasal cannula oxygen administration
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring.
- Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN).
- State license verification within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS verification for RNs.
- Completion of a medication/pharmacology competency exam prior to start.
- Unit-specific competency exams including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required annually).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and freedom from contagious disease.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed).
- Immunization and health document requirements including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and annually.
- Annual review and acknowledgment of ethics, compliance, dress code, and hand hygiene policies.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Candidates using a compact license from states other than Ohio must complete a Residency Declaration Form.
- Fingerprinting must be completed using specific Ohio codes and within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if there is a break in service over 90 days.
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership.
- Employment application and skills checklist required prior to start.
