Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech (Surgical Services)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Surgical Tech - Hybrid Endovascular
  • Shift: 06:00 AM - 07:00 PM
  • Specialty: Surgical Services with focus on Vascular and Endovascular cases (Hybrid suite)
  • Must be able to independently scrub all Vascular and Endovascular cases
  • No Cardiac OR cases; focus is strictly Vascular and Endovascular
  • Call Requirements:
    • On-call 1 weekend per month and 1 weekday each week
    • Weekend work required as per unit needs (typically 1 weekend per month)
  • Floating: May be required to float within scope between like units based on facility needs
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in Surgical Tech with endovascular experience
  • First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
  • Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • DORA (State License)
  • National Surgical Tech Certification (NBSTSA) if applicable
  • Colorado State License required within 60 days of start
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (confirm specifics if needed)

Work Schedule & Time Off

  • Maximum of 10 RTO (Return to Office) days approved
  • RTO not allowed during specific blackout periods in 2026 (March 14-21, May 8-11, May 21-27, June 28 - July 9)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks: 7-year background check including SSN trace, state and federal checks, education verification
  • Drug Testing: Required within 30 days of start and annually
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test within 12 months and annually
    • Immunizations and titers including TDAP, TB test, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine (seasonal)
    • COVID vaccine or signed declination
    • Color Blind Exam (Ishihara test) required prior to start
  • Competency Exams: Medication test, Core Part I-III, OSHA, Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams required within 1 year and updated annually
  • Employment History: Verification of last 3 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • References: 2 references from last 2 years required, including one from the last year

Additional Notes

  • Must be able to cover emergency endovascular cases on call
  • Hybrid role with a focus on vascular and endovascular surgical tech duties
  • Weekend and weekday on-call required as per unit needs
