Job Description

Critical Care Registered Nurses provide care for patients with severe medical issues such as heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, and respiratory distress. Responsibilities include:

• Assessing patient condition and implementing care plans
• Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
• Assisting physicians with procedures
• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Managing ventilators, IABP, and other medical equipment
• Administering IV fluids and medications
• Suctioning
• Collaborating with the critical care team
• Responding to life-saving situations using nursing protocols
• Acting as patient advocate
• Educating and supporting patient families
• Caring for pre- and post-operative patients
• Floating to LTAC units as needed based on census

Requirements

• Specialty: Critical Care RN
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Licensure: Illinois RN license or multi-state RN license required
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• Experience: Must have ventilator and tracheostomy experience
• Additional: Ability to float to LTAC units depending on facility census
