ICU Travel Nurse - Indiana (Franklin)

Job Details

• Specialty: ICU
• Location: Franklin, Indiana
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Job Title: RN (Registered Nurse)
• Shift: 3 twelve-hour shifts (12's)
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling, schedule released 6 weeks in advance
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Holiday Requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday if working during contract
• Call Requirement: Generally placed on call if needed; no mandatory call outside of this
• Floating: May float to Medsurg if needed; ER only if experienced in ER

Unit Information

• Combined CCU and PCU unit with 12 beds (6 CCU, 6 PCU)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2 in CCU, 1:3-4 in PCU
• Nurse aids available on unit
• Telemetry present; RNs read strips
• Respiratory therapy equipment: ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, oximizer

Patient Population / Common Diagnoses

• Sepsis
• Respiratory distress
• Overdose / ETOH withdrawal
• Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience preferred
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
• Skills:

  • Ability to titrate drips (Levophed, insulin, dopamine, heparin)
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Orientation

• General facility orientation: 1 day
• Unit-specific orientation: 1-2 days
