Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (Contract)

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy
First-time travelers considered upon review
Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Patient Population

Mostly geriatrics and adults
Some pediatrics in the Emergency Department

Patient Ratios

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

Skills Required

Vent management
CPAP, BiPAP
Nebulizer treatments
A-line placement
Intubation
Vent weaning and extubation
Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Experience with AVEA vents, Servo U vents, LPU 1200 vents, parapack vents for MRI, Hamilton vents for transport

Support and Equipment

Charting system: EPIC
Medication dispensing: Pyxis
Floating: May float within hospital to all units

Orientation

At least one shift to learn unit flow

Scheduling

Weekend rotation every other weekend (default)
Time off approval up to 7 days (default)
On-call varies
Holiday expectations vary
Block scheduling not accommodated
Fatigue policy: No more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts

Scrub color: Any except camo or denim
