Job Summary

Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (LDRP RN) for a travel contract position. The role involves floating between units as needed and requires flexibility to work every other weekend.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Floating between units based on unit needs
• No on-call required
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• No block schedules required
• Patient Ratios:

  • 1:1 active labor
  • 1:3 postpartum
  • Staffing follows AWHONN standards
• Facility Type: Critical Access / Level III Trauma Center
• Total Staffed Beds: 25
• Teaching Hospital
• Charting system: Epic

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery (LDRP) nursing experience preferred

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Oregon
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification (AWHONN or NCC-EFM acceptable)

Additional Requirements

• Must have a reliable vehicle for assignment
• Ability and willingness to float to other units and facilities within the hospital system as needed
• Compliance with all required background checks and verifications
• Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
• Respirator clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates

Prior Travel Experience

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position (1st timers are accepted)

References & Employment History

• Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps

Floating Policy

• Acknowledgement required that the nurse may be floated to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance

Summary

This is a 26-week travel contract for an experienced Labor and Delivery RN in Hood River, Oregon. The position requires flexibility to float between units, weekend availability every other weekend, and current certifications in BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS, and EFM. Prior travel experience is not mandatory. Candidates must meet all health, background, and training requirements prior to start.
