Job Opportunity: PCU RN for ER Holding Unit

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a PCU Registered Nurse to provide care for patients boarded in the ER holding unit.


Required Qualifications

  • Active Georgia or Compact RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years recent PCU nursing experience OR
    1 year PCU experience plus 1+ years in Telemetry, ER, or ICU
  • Must have successfully completed at least 1 previous travel assignment (prior travel experience required)
  • References should be from recent assignments

Work Details

  • Patient ratio: 1:4-5 (adjusted for acuity)
  • Common patient diagnoses: Cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, critical care
  • RN responsibilities include reading and saving telemetry strips (Spacelabs monitors)
  • Respiratory Therapists available 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, and ventilator management; RNs troubleshoot only
  • X-Ray and CT available in ER with dedicated transport techs
  • No phlebotomy performed by RNs in ER
  • Transport techs work until 10pm
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend
  • Holiday coverage based on department needs
  • No call or standby requirement
  • Dress code: Navy scrubs
  • Department-specific orientation during the first week of the contract
  • Shift: 12-hour nights

  • Strict 100-mile radius rule applies (driver’s license copy required)
