Job Opportunity: NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Position: 3 x 12 hour night shifts
- Unit: Very busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) mandatory
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license valid in Massachusetts (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
- Specialty experience: Not specified, assume standard for NICU RRT roles (recommend minimum 1-2 years NICU or pediatric respiratory therapy experience)
Health and Safety Requirements
- N95 Fit Test completed within 365 days prior to start date and updated annually (no religious exemptions)
- Documentation of immunizations or immunity for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Influenza vaccine (required during flu season, Sept 15 - April 30; no exemptions)
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if >6 month break
- Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity (strongly preferred)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
- Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date and updated if >6 month break
- Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation required
Background and Credentialing Requirements
- Criminal background checks including:
- Massachusetts CORI check
- National sex offender registry check
- Exclusion list checks (OIG, GSA, Medicaid)
- Social Security Number trace and education verification
- Submission of 2 recent professional references (minimum 1 supervisor or above)
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
- Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission
- Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for extensions
Additional Notes
- A professional color photo (no selfies, no filters, plain background) taken within the last 6 months is required
- No fit testing can be done onsite; must be completed prior to start
- No religious or medical exemptions for vaccines or fit testing will be considered
- Must comply with all onboarding and submission documentation requirements
This position is ideal for experienced NICU respiratory therapists seeking a long-term travel assignment in a high-acuity neonatal setting.
