Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology Tech (Evening Shift)

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging examinations
  • Explain procedures and respond to patient questions
  • Perform diagnostic radiological procedures as ordered by physicians
  • Assist Radiologist and/or Fluoro Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedures
  • Operate CR, Fluoro, and DR imaging equipment safely and efficiently
  • Move portable radiographic equipment within various hospital departments including Emergency, Operating Room, PACU, and Nursing
  • Administer IV and oral contrast media as needed and manage contrast reactions
  • Document patient information and imaging details accurately in PACS
  • Maintain radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA standards
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff

Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a specialized training program in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Registered with the ARRT in Radiology
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, renewed every two years

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office preferred

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Familiarity with radiologic equipment, procedures, and safety hazards
  • Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to troubleshoot and adjust equipment as needed
  • Ability to use sterile technique during procedures in the Operating Room and Radiology department

Additional Information

  • Must be able to perform clerical duties related to workflow monitoring and quality assurance
  • Ability to explain policies and procedures to radiology students as directed
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
