Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary

Position Details

• Employment Type: Contractor
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• On Call: None
• Holiday Expectations: Based on needs
• Orientation: 1 day on the unit
• Floating: Potentially to hospitals within the PSA based on the contract
• Scrub Color: Charcoal Gray
• Parking: Free

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with the full lifespan of patients (pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics)
• Experience with:

  • Trachs
  • Nitrous oxide procedures
  • Proning techniques
  • ECMO
  • Critical care
  • Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) or prevention
  • Spontaneous breathing trials
  • ABG draws
• EPIC charting system experience is required
• Must be comfortable with 1:1 patient ratios

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Active Respiratory Therapist license (state-specific)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)

Patient Population

• Neonates to geriatric respiratory patients

Equipment Familiarity

• Ventilators: PB840, 980, Servo-U, Hamilton
• CPAP/BiPAP: V60s, ResMed, RemStar
• Optiflow
• Transport ventilators: Hamilton

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required; first-time travelers considered upon review
• Plenty of PPE available, including N95 masks
• Support available on the unit with a supervisor
