Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery RN

Location: Show Low, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (6p-6a)
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Orientation: Every Monday
• Floating: May float to Emergency Department or MedSurg if experienced
• Patient Load:

  • 7 Labor & Delivery beds
  • 2 Triage beds
  • 10 Postpartum beds
  • 1-3 births per day (approx. 830 births per year)
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2
• Call: One shift per 4-week schedule
• Support Staff: Respiratory Therapist 24/7, Patient Care Technicians, Health Unit Secretary, OB scrub tech, Health Unit Coordinator
• Pharmacy: 24/7 in-house pharmacy
• Clinical Environment: No in-house OB/Neonatologist; nurses must be proficient in assessment and able to manage OB emergencies until provider arrival
• Care Model: Must be able to function in both Labor & Delivery and couplet care

Required Qualifications

• License: Active Arizona RN license or compact RN license
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (includes C-section experience)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring (NOT via AWHONN)
• Skills:

  • Proficient in fetal monitoring and managing fetal distress
  • Able to care for high-risk patients, including those with pre-eclampsia
  • Strong clinical assessment skills for OB emergencies
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
