Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

Seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit. The unit practices inpatient rooming with infants, with newborn nursery care available as needed. Shift is 12 hours, night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Weekend coverage is every other weekend.

• Shift: 12 hours, night shift (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend
• Medication system: Omnicell
• Communication method: SBAR
• Charge nurse role: Not required or preferred

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• First-time travelers with experience will be considered

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Beginner (required)
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - AWHONN Beginner required for L&D RNs

Preferred Certifications:

• AWHONN Intermediate
• AWHONN Advanced

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license for Massachusetts
• Completion of MA Statewide CORI background check
• Compliance with facility-specific background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG
• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
• N95 fit test within last 6 months (specific approved masks required)
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or signed declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Drug screening within 30 days prior to start (minimum 9-panel)
• Two professional references within the last 3 years

Additional Requirements

• Badge photo (passport style) required prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific compliance checklists and questionnaires (e.g., latex allergy, COVID exemption forms if applicable)
• Age-specific competency exam required

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required; first-time travelers with experience will be considered
