Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Brownwood, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Support inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Texas OT License
  • NBCOT Certification
  • BLS Certification (AHA accepted: Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Experience

  • State-specific checks for Texas (Employability Status Check and Employee Misconduct Registry) within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • Fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S), updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (PPD or Qgold/Tspot) within 1 year of start
  • TB questionnaire annually
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or exemption (for 2025-26 season)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start (no pending results allowed)

Documentation & Orientation

  • I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments (e.g., vaccination info, TB and occupational exposure, patient-centered pledge, confidentiality, compliance agreements) must be reviewed and signed prior to start
  • Orientation modules (~3-4 hours) required
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Resume/application copy required
  • Two references within 3 years

  • This position requires compliance with all facility and system policies and documentation deadlines
