Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Port Richey, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology procedures. This is a travel/contract position in a short-term acute care facility.


Required Experience & Skills

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology
  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years (highest requirement)
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
    • BLS (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • On-Call Requirement: Yes
  • Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
  • Experience Required:
    • Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab
    • Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab
    • Interventional Radiology
    • Special Procedures work setting
    • Experience with On-Call procedures including Impella, IABP, EKOS, CSI, Jetstream, Laser, Shockwave
  • EMR System: Cerner

Licensure & Compliance

  • Licensure: Florida RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Driver’s License: Must be current and active throughout assignment
  • Background Checks: Standard background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
  • Education Verification: Required for all healthcare professionals
  • References: 2 references from past 2 years required
  • Employment Application & Skills Checklist: Required

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations or titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days (instant tests not accepted)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or documented declination (mask required if declined)
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
  • Respirator medical clearance if respirator use is required

Competency & Training Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥ 80%)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (100% lethal arrhythmia score required)
  • Color Blind Testing (Relias) prior to start
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification if applicable
  • Stroke Education CEUs (8 total credits required for certain units)
  • NIH Stroke Certification and mRS (Modified Rankin Scale) certification as applicable
  • BayCare Online Learning Center modules must be completed prior to start (4-8 hours)

  • Locals are not accepted for this travel position
  • No guaranteed hours until after first call off per pay period
  • COVID-19 vaccination required, but exemptions accepted for medical or religious reasons
  • Clear, professional photo required for badge prior to start
