Travel Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Florida, Titusville

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Job Description

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
  • Acute Care Hospital setting, mixed unit with high acuity patients
  • Patient ratio experience required: 1:6
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Floating required within scope, including Rapid Response team duties
  • Experience with total joint patients required
  • Mandatory clinical orientation week: 5 shifts (36-40 hours)
  • No block scheduling allowed
  • No RTO (Return to Office) during first or last week of assignment
  • Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility)
  • Call-out policy: 3 call outs result in termination
  • Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience (Registered Nurse in MS/Tele)
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required except for PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)
  • Other certifications preferred but not required: TNCC, EFM, PALS, NRP (based on specialty area)

Required Licenses

  • Valid Registered Nurse license for Florida (primary source verification required)
  • NURSYS verification as applicable

Orientation & Training

  • Must complete facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start
  • eLearning and Elsevier modules assigned approximately 2 weeks before start date
  • Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement and clinical orientation acknowledgement
  • Medication and competency exams required with passing scores (84% or higher)
  • Color blindness testing required (80% or higher)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide checks, education verification, and fingerprinting (Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start)
  • Education verification of RN degree (ASN, BSN, or MSN)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted as final)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Fit mask testing completed onsite during first week
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • COVID vaccination documentation required; religious or medical exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms
  • Flu vaccine or declination documentation recommended but not required for contract workers

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references within 2 years of start
  • Performance evaluation within last year if previously worked through any agency
  • Skills checklist required
  • Various facility-specific acknowledgements and forms must be reviewed and signed (e.g., confidentiality, tobacco-free policy, timecard expectations)

Work Environment

  • Acute care hospital with 210 staffed beds
  • Charting system: Meditech
  • Free parking available in unrestricted spaces

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with MS/Tele specialty looking for a high-acuity acute care travel assignment in Florida. Candidates must be prepared for floating duties, mandatory orientation, and strict compliance with facility policies and certifications.
