Travel Registered Nurse (Stepdown Unit) - Cleveland, Ohio

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Stepdown Unit)

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm), rotating day/night shifts as needed
• Unit: HVTI-Stepdown (Progressive Care Unit)

Required Experience

• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel
• Must have 18 months recent Stepdown experience (travel experience accepted)
• PCU/Progressive care experience preferred but not required

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license in hand
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross accepted)
• ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate pass required during orientation

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required (travel experience accepted as specialty experience)

Work Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday
• Pass orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate testing

Orientation & Training

• Completion of online onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Pass/fail ECG and medication testing during orientation
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months and updated annually

Background & Health Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months, updated annually (must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit mask (N95) fit test within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with annual questionnaire if past positive)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually

References & Employment History

• Two professional references from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area

This position requires a highly experienced Stepdown RN with strong clinical skills, flexibility in shift work, and compliance with rigorous onboarding, health, and background screening protocols.
