Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Call: Rotating evening call among 3 techs
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Scrubs Color: Burgundy
- Orientation: Bi-weekly
- Flu Vaccination: Required, no exemptions or declinations accepted
- Local Candidates: Accepted
- First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in Nuclear Medicine (highest required years of experience)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) or ARRT(N) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Nuclear Medicine)
- Skills: Proficiency with GE Equipment (mandatory)
Licensure
- Must hold the appropriate Nuclear Medicine Tech license/certification relevant to the specialty (CNMT or ARRT Nuclear Medicine certification)
Required Documents & Compliance
- Background checks including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list
- Education verification from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology training program
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Flu vaccine (seasonal, required annually)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months (one must be a supervisor)
- Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
- Competency exam and pass/fail testing on basic tech knowledge at orientation
Additional Requirements
- Must set up a Duke Guest Account prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
- Completion of facility-specific competency checklists (CBOs) within 3 weeks after start
- Completion of required online modules prior to orientation
- Compliance with facility-specific agreements and confidentiality policies
Notes
- Prior travel experience is required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Candidates must be able to participate in rotating evening call and weekend shifts as specified
- Flu vaccine is mandatory with no exemptions allowed
This position is ideal for experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment with rotating call and weekend requirements.
