Job Opportunity: Mobile MRI Tech

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Monday-Thursday, 4x10 hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
• On-call: No
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
• Daily Caseload: Varies
• Holidays: Required to work if they fall on scheduled shift

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Certifications/Licenses:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
• Additional Experience: Siemens MRI experience required
• Preferred Experience: Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Radiation Badge: Not required for MRI Techs
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of work eligibility (I-9, Driver’s License/State ID, Social Security Card)
• Background checks including 7 years of history, criminal, sex offender, and federal databases
• Education verification (diploma or transcripts as placeholder if needed)
• Clinical references (2 required)
• Employment history verification (last 3 clinical employers)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
• Color blindness testing prior to start
• Facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed before start
• Clear, passport-style badge photo required before start

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers required or proof of immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination series)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with follow-up chest x-ray
• Annual TB questionnaire
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated

Additional Notes

• Radius rule: 60 miles
• Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• All required certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start
• License verification: MRI Techs are NOT required to have a South Carolina Radiology license
• Must upload all required documents into the facility’s system prior to start

This position is suitable for MRI Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, Siemens MRI proficiency, and appropriate ARRT certification, looking for a 13-week travel contract in a high-acuity teaching hospital environment.
