Position Overview

• Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN)
• Employment Type: Traveler - Backfill
• Location: Columbus, Indiana
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

WOC nurses are specialists in caring for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues. They address acute and rehabilitative needs related to gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary disorders. Responsibilities include direct patient care for abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure injuries, and continence disorders. WOC nurses also serve as educators, consultants, researchers, and administrators, contributing to optimal patient care delivery.

Work settings include acute care, long-term care, home health, and outpatient environments.

Work Environment & Equipment

• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC EMR
• Specialized equipment: WOCN Cart with dressings, Ostomy Cart for ostomy care
• Unit includes 215 inpatient beds and 1 ostomy outpatient bed
• Nurse will address skin issues across all inpatient units including ICU, Step-down, and Med-Surg
• No floating to other units; focus remains on WOCN duties

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Some limited weekend call required

Dress Code

• Scrubs preferred; business casual acceptable

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in wound care
• WOCN Certification required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Valid RN license for Indiana

Additional Information

• Orientation includes EMR training and hands-on training with current WOCN staff
• Comfortable addressing skin issues for patients across all inpatient units is expected

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit requirement for prior travel experience indicated
