Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Acute Rehabilitation
• Number of Beds: 10
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury, Spinal Surgery, Amputees
• Therapies Available: Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), Neuropsychology
• Respiratory/Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, transfer equipment, tracheostomies, nasal cannula, PEG and Mickey button, NG tubes

Schedule & Work Environment

• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM (Night Shift)
• Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends (approximately 4 weekend days per month)
• Holiday Requirements: Yes
• Call or Standby: No
• Floating: Possible assignment to acute floor if overstaffed
• Self-Scheduling: Not allowed, but employees may submit scheduling requests
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• Orientation: Unit/Department specific orientation provided

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of bedside nursing experience in an acute inpatient rehab setting
• Skills:

  • Ability to attend team conferences on day shift
  • Experience working with stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and amputee patients
  • Familiarity with respiratory equipment and feeding tubes used in rehab patients

Additional Notes

• No telemetry or monitor techs on unit; RNs do not read cardiac strips
• Charge nurse takes patient assignments
• Nurse aides intermittently available at a ratio of 1 aide per 8-10 patients
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
