Job Opportunity: Sleep Technologist (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - RPSGT)

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Employment Type: Permanent (Full-time)
Shift: Nights


Job Summary

Perform polysomnographic tests (PSGs), multiple sleep latency tests (MSLTs), and maintenance of wakefulness tests (MWTs) as ordered by a physician.


Required Qualifications

  • License/Certification: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) [Required]
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience as a sleep technician in a hospital sleep lab [Required]
    • At least 1 year of experience as a respiratory therapist with an RPSGT or SDS in an acute hospital setting [Required]
  • Skills:
    • Ability to read, write legibly, and communicate effectively in English
    • Proficient with personal computers and relevant software (e.g., electronic documentation)
    • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently
  • Physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond to patient care needs
  • Adequate hearing, visual acuity, and color vision
  • Fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination
  • Ability to assist patients with ambulation and transfers
  • May be required to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Use of standard precautions due to exposure risk to blood and bodily fluids
  • Effective communication skills in person and by telephone
  • Periodic use of a personal computer
