Location: Round Rock, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
Call Requirements: No on-call required

Unit Information

• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Number of Beds: 22
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, RNs with 1:2 patient ratio (sometimes 1:1), PCT as needed
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, RNs with 1:2 patient ratio (sometimes 1:1), PCT as needed
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2, sometimes 1:1
• Equipment Used:

  • IABP, Impella, Ventiator
  • Arterial Line, Swan-Ganz catheters
  • SLED/TABLO machines, Belmont rapid infuser
  • Traction, EVD, nitric oxide, Hemisphere
• EMR System: Meditech
• Permanent Positions Available: No

Typical Procedures Performed

• Rapid sequence intubation
• CABG and valve replacements
• Thrombectomies
• EVD insertions
• SLED/TABLO dialysis
• Massive transfusion protocol (MTP)
• Cardioversion
• IABP/Impella management
• TNK administration
• Vasopressors administration
• IV sedation

Required Qualifications

• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
• Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU nursing experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma credentials such as TNCC, CATN, TCAR
• Post-op cardiac surgery experience
