Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health)

Location: Linville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Position: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (BH RN)
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts, weekdays, every other weekend (EOW), float, holidays
• EMR System: EPIC (recent experience required)
• Start: ASAP

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or Multistate license
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in specialty
• Minimum 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA preferred)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for all RNs
• Must have a valid Driver’s License for address verification
• Recent experience with EPIC EMR system

Certifications (as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – may be required depending on unit
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – required for all candidates
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required for ICU/IMC if applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – required upon client request
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required upon client request
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – required for all RNs

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check: 7-year criminal history, updated annually
• E-Verify, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, updated annually
• Physical exam and health screenings including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (within 5 years)
  • Drug screening (10 panel including marijuana) within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccine or approved exemption required

Facility-Specific Notes

• No candidates residing within 40 miles of the facility will be accepted
• Passport-style photo required for badge (shoulders up, front facing, plain background)
• Must complete facility-specific self-study orientation and post-test
• Must complete accountability statements and personal data sheet
• Criminal History Investigation Form required if background check returns a hit

Additional Information

• Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
• All required documents must be submitted prior to offer acceptance

This position is ideal for experienced Behavioral Health RNs with prior travel nursing experience who are comfortable working night shifts and meeting comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
