Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP

Position Details

• Unit: 34-bed Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry
• Shift: Nights (4x12 or 3x12 shifts), 19:00 - 07:30
• Schedule: Includes weekdays and weekends (3 weekend shifts per 4-week period)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-7
• EMR System: Cerner

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical specialty
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) - required
• NIH Stroke Certification - required
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit and specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) - verify prior to start
• All certifications must be current and on file before starting; no pending certifications allowed

Licensure

• Valid RN license verification required

Compliance & Documentation

Candidates must provide the following prior to start:

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (updated annually)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, preferred)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Drug testing (10 panel within 30 days of start, updated annually)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific learning modules including Cerner EMR training prior to orientation
• Completion of ReadySet (RS) health assessment surveys by facility deadline
• Submission of skills checklist updated annually
• Proof of at least 2 clinical references within the past 2 years
• Attendance expectation: Facility allows only 2-3 call-offs per contract due to prior attendance issues

Notes

• Scrubs are not provided
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documentation and training requirements prior to start
• Orientation and training modules are tracked and must be completed on time to maintain compliance
