Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Largo, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (06:45 AM - 5:15 PM)
Schedule Requirements:

• Weekend shifts required
• On-call required (10-15 on-call shifts per contract)
• Holidays as scheduled
• Floating within specialty and general OR as needed

Job Description

• Position: Circulating and Scrub RN in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• 40 hours per week
• Weekend and on-call coverage required
• Must have circulating and scrub experience (hard stop)
• May require early start times if multiple heart cases scheduled

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of Registered Nurse experience in OR settings
• Strong general OR experience across multiple service lines including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery
• First-time travelers accepted if they meet experience requirements
• Prior travel experience not required

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Maryland RN State License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Additional Requirements

• Floating within specialty and general OR as needed based on case volume
• On-call shifts: Weekday/night on-call from end of shift to 6:30 AM next day; weekend on-call is 24-hour coverage
• Surgical/sterile scrubs provided

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• I-9 or Attestation
• Government Issued Photo ID
• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if applicable)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titers or vaccination proof)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (2025-26 season)
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start
• COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation may be collected for tracking
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
• Employment application/resume within 30 days of start
• Verification of previous 5 years of work history

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher)
• Color blindness testing
• Age-specific competency exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (excludes OR candidates)

Notes

• Candidates must sign job description and confidentiality agreement prior to start
• Security ID application must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Portfolio Epic training test-out available for eligible candidates

This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with strong CVOR skills looking for a 13-week travel contract in Maryland with a structured schedule including weekends and on-call duties.
