Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Rad Therapist)

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Work Environment

• Facility specializes in Radiation Oncology at a cancer institute.
• Patient volume: Treat approximately 45-55 patients per day on 2 linear accelerators.
• Staffing ratio: 2 radiation therapists per machine.
• Team includes RNs, dosimetrists, physicists, dietitian, social worker, and director.
• Equipment:

  • 2 TrueBeam linear accelerators (latest installed 1 month ago)
  • GE CT Simulator
  • Elekta HDR
• Documentation system: ARIA
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 7:30 AM to 4:00-4:30 PM
• Floating policy: Not applicable
• Patient experience goal: Press Ganey scores around 95%
• Certifications: ACR accredited for radiation oncology, Commission on Cancer accredited, NAPBC accredited

Required Qualifications

• License: Radiation Therapist License required
• Certifications: ARRT (T) Certification, BLS
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of TrueBeam experience (higher of 2 years stated and 3 years required is 3 years)
• Skills:

  • Experience with Align RT (Vision RT) surface guidance system
  • Proficient with ARIA documentation system
• Advanced Skills:

  • Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH) technique
• Procedures Performed:

  • VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy)
  • SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy)
  • Surface Guidance
