Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Rehab (Travel/Contract)

Location: Harvey, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehab
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience (Medical-Surgical experience required; LTAC/SNF experience accepted)
• Floating: Required
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-7
• Charting System: Epic

• Return to Office Restrictions: 7 days max

Required Certifications & Licenses

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required for all candidates
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM may be required or recommended depending on unit (verify specifics if applicable)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience within the last year
• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and/or proof of immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination or declination allowed)
  • Varicella
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation or approved exemption (season runs 10/1 to 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved religious/medical exemption (facility-specific forms required)

Background & Documentation

• 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender registry, national and federal checks
• Education verification (ADN or BSN required)
• Employment verification covering last 7 years
• Skills checklist updated annually for assigned and float units
• References: Minimum 2 required
• Employment application with explanation of any employment gaps over 30 days

Additional Notes

• Illinois Department of Public Health fingerprinting required if no Illinois state license is held
• Photo for badge required (passport style, plain background, no headgear)
• Facility orientation modules (~2 hours) must be completed prior to start
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 1 year of Med Surg experience who are comfortable floating and working in a rehab setting with a 1:5-7 patient ratio. The role requires flexibility for every other weekend shifts and adherence to strict health and compliance standards.
