Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse

Location: Richmond, Kentucky

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Oxygen protocol management
• Non-invasive airway management
• Management of drips
• Peripheral and central line care/management
• Blood product administration
• Isolation precautions and PPE use
• Computerized documentation
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:3-4
• Rapid response team activation
• NIH Stroke Certification required prior to assignment

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Telemetry)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience in specialty
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • NIH Stroke Certification (must be current within 1 year prior to start)
  • Pass/Fail EKG Test (required for MS, ICU, and ED nurses; completed during orientation)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable per specialty/unit
• Licensure: Valid RN license in the state of Kentucky with primary source verification (NURSYS verification required)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification matching specialty required prior to start (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
• State-specific abuse registry check if applicable
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
• Fit mask test annually (with waiver process if failed)
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Baseline TB risk assessment within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • 2 MMR vaccines or IgG titer (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or IgG titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form
• Photo for badge (headshot with solid light background)
• 2 professional references required

• Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually
• Performance evaluations completed by unit managers after start
• Nurse to patient ratio and rapid response team involvement indicate a fast-paced telemetry environment
