Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Selma, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Med/Surg Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients using scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV, IM)
• Reporting adverse medication reactions per policy
• Educating patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care
• Recording medical information and vital signs
• Monitoring and adjusting specialized patient equipment
• Providing bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery
• Changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs, and assisting physicians during exams and treatments
• Responding to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols
• Participating in discharge planning
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all care provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing experience
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
