Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
• Required to float across multiple campuses within the system
• Patient population primarily Pulmonary and Medical Surgical
• Unit size: 23 beds
• Experience with drips such as Heparin
• May care for COVID-19 positive patients
• Orientation date is fixed (specific date provided by employer)

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical nursing experience (required)
• Pulmonary patient care experience (required)
• Experience caring for pulmonary/ventilated patients on BiPAP, trach care is highly preferred
• Charge nurse experience is required
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Valid driver’s license
• Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical discipline
• Professional references within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the 2+ years Medical Surgical experience requirement
• Work history and resume must clearly document 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience
• The role involves caring for a diverse patient population including pulmonary and med surg patients, with some exposure to ventilated and COVID+ patients
• The facility is a Level I Trauma Center with a strong reputation in cardiac care, cancer care, and rehabilitation services
