Position Overview

• Specialty: Operating Room / Surgery
• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 2:30 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Call Requirements: Yes
• Number of Openings: 1

Facility & Unit Information

• 10 OR rooms, 4 PACU beds, 19 Ambulatory bays, 5 EPS, 9 Endoscopy bays
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Meditech
• Patient population: General Surgery cases
• Surgical Services float required as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• Perioperative nursing experience
• Experience as OR Circulate RN and OR Scrub RN
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in Acute Care, Home Health, and Outpatient settings

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Must be located 60 miles or more from facility to qualify as travel
• Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
• Scrubs provided; unapproved fingernails per AORN guidelines are not allowed

Summary

This is a travel RN position in the Operating Room at a full-service acute care hospital in Martinsville, VA. The role requires 2 years of OR nursing experience, current Virginia RN licensure, and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
