Job Description

The Medical Technologist is responsible for the efficient planning, directing, and accurate provision of all laboratory testing in their assigned area of licensure. This role requires critical thinking, judgment, and leadership in laboratory technology. The technologist must practice in accordance with laboratory policies, procedures, regulatory standards, recognized testing techniques, and administrative policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing in assigned area
• Utilize blood bank, MTS gel & tube methods
• Operate Beckman Coulter hematology analyzers (520 and 690), manual differentials, body fluid cell counts and differentials
• Use Werfen Top coagulation instrumentation and perform urine microscopic procedures
• Work shifts from 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM, 7 days on followed by 7 days off

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Medical Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with MTS gel methods and tube methods
• Experience with Beckman Coulter hematology analyzers (520 and 690)
• Experience with manual differential procedures
• Experience with body fluid cell count and differential procedures
• Experience with Werfen Top coagulation instrumentation
• Experience with urine microscopic procedures

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Shift schedule: 1 PM - 10:30 PM, 7 days on / 7 days off
