Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy (Travel)

Location: Marion, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel assignment at a community hospital with 35 beds plus 5 labor/delivery rooms. The unit covers all areas of cardiopulmonary care and serves a diverse patient population requiring respiratory services.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Cardiopulmonary
• Number of Beds: 35 plus 5 LDRP rooms
• Staffing:

  • 4 Full-Time Respiratory Therapists
  • 1 Part-Time Respiratory Therapist
  • 5 PRN Respiratory Therapists
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 1 RT, 1 Supervisor (Manager floats between two hospitals)
  • Night Shift: Currently 1 RT, aiming for 2 RTs
• Patient Ratios: All patients requiring respiratory services
• Equipment Used:

  • V60 Ventilator
  • GE R860 Carescape Ventilators
  • Vapotherms
  • Comfort Flow HFNC
  • HT70 Transport Ventilator
  • Hamilton C1 Ventilator/BiPAP
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Required Skills and Procedures

• Must Have:

  • Acute care experience
  • ICU ventilator management
  • Emergency Department (ED) experience
• Preferred:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) experience
• Typical Procedures:

  • Intubations
  • Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) draws and interpretation
  • Critical thinking for ABG analysis, ventilator settings, and adjustments
  • Use of IS, FV, EZPAP, BiPAP, Nebulizers

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) License in North Carolina

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Medium grey scrubs
• Weekend Coverage: Possible weekend shifts required
• Floating: May be required to float within the hospital

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Experience with ICU ventilators
