Job Details

• Unit: Radiology Tech
• Number of suites/labs: 2
• Average cases per day: 5-10
• Common procedures: Diagnostic left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, IABP, Impella, Temporary pacemaker, TCAR, EVAR, EKOS, AIF, IVC filters, Infusaports, Permacaths
• Vascular surgeon performs procedures such as filters and venograms in the cath lab
• Job duties include scrubbing and assisting physicians, knowledge of sterile technique required
• EKOS experience preferred but training available
• EMR/Equipment: Siemens software and equipment
• On-call: 24/7 cardiologist coverage
• Call requirements:

  • One week of on-call per four-week schedule (Monday 7 AM to following Monday 7 AM)
  • Call can be broken up to equal one week per four weeks
  • Weekend call: Friday after hours until Monday 7 AM (if not on Monday-to-Monday call)
  • Holiday call: Rotational
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
  • Mandatory call/standby required for Rad Techs
• Shifts: Five days per week; start and stop times vary based on case schedule
• Floating: No mandatory floating; optional extra hours available on other units if experienced
• Scrub color/dress code: Surgical attire provided; lead apron not provided
• Orientation: General hospital, nursing, and computer training; up to 36 hours or one week in the department; Monday-Friday schedule
• Weekend and holiday coverage through rotating call
