Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Titusville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with MS/Tele specialty for a travel contract position. Candidates must have prior Charge RN experience to be considered. The role involves caring for patients at a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) level with a 1:6 patient ratio.


Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience (highest stated requirement)
  • Prior Charge RN experience is mandatory
  • Experience with orthopedic and total joint replacement nursing care is strongly preferred
  • Comfortable with 1:6 patient ratio in a PCU setting

Work Schedule & Requirements

  • Weekend shifts every other week
  • Floating within scope of practice required
  • No block scheduling allowed
  • Mandatory 5 shifts for clinical orientation week (36-40 hours)
  • Local candidates must live more than 30 miles from the facility
  • Call-out policy: 3 call-outs result in termination
  • Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment

Certifications & Licenses

  • Current RN license in Florida
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)
  • Additional preferred certifications (not required):
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

Orientation & Training

  • Completion of facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start
  • eLearning and Elsevier modules assigned approximately 2 weeks before start date
  • Must complete Non PMC Employee Orientation Quiz and related forms
  • Facility-specific safety and competency exams required (e.g., medication/pharmacology competency)

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide and county checks, education verification
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 3 months of start
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Required vaccinations or documented immunity for:
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation required; religious or medical exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms
  • Flu vaccine or declination documentation encouraged but not required for contract workers

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references within two years of start
  • Performance evaluation within the last year if previously assigned through any agency
  • Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
  • Must review and sign various facility-specific acknowledgments and policies (e.g., confidentiality, tobacco-free policy, timecard expectations)

  • Acute Care Hospital with 210 staffed beds
  • Charting system: Meditech
  • Free parking available
  • Scrub color: Any

Note: Candidates without Charge RN experience will be automatically removed from consideration.
