Job Opportunity: RN - OB/Postpartum

Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide nursing care for postpartum, stable antepartum, pediatric patients, newborns, GYN, Med-Surg overflow, and may serve as second RN in the Special Care Nursery (SCN). Must be willing to float to other units such as Telemetry and Med-Surg as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years OB/Pediatrics nursing experience
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active Minnesota RN license
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS preferred but not required
• Skills:

  • EPIC EMR experience preferred; if no EPIC experience, must specify other EMR systems used
  • Willingness to float to Labor, Postpartum, Nursery, Pediatrics, Med-Surg, and Telemetry units

Schedule & Work Environment

• Rotating 12-hour shifts (day/night), approximately 50% day shifts and 50% night shifts over a 6-week schedule
• Rotation every 3rd weekend
• May assist in filling schedule vacancies due to onboarding, staff vacancies, or FMLA
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • 1:3 mom/baby couplets
  • 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg patients
  • 1:3-4 pediatrics
• Support staff includes ward clerks, CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, and LPN scrub nurses
• Dress code: Navy scrubs

• Bladder Scanner
• Medula Breast Pumps
• Responder 5 Call Light System
• Medfusion Pumps

Additional Information

• Must be able to work in multiple units including Labor, Postpartum, Nursery, Pediatrics, and Med-Surg as needed
• Orientation includes equipment and unit-specific training on the first day
• Float rotation with other nurses in Labor, Postpartum, Nursery, and Pediatrics units
