Job Opportunity: RRT-NICU (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)

Location: Odessa, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Minimum level 3 NICU experience required
  • Attend deliveries
  • Work with HFJV (High-Frequency Jet Ventilation) and HFOV (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Texas
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Respiratory Therapist experience

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required as applicable
  • Other certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification) depending on facility requirements

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 30 days of start; instant acceptable
  • Employment application and 2 references within 3 years required
  • Skills checklist required and must be updated annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (N-95 or equivalent; PAPR not accepted)
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year; chest X-ray within 2 years if positive)
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct-April)
  • COVID initial series or facility-specific declination required (annual boosters not required)

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Completion of orientation and safety training modules within 72 hours of contract signing
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing (EKG/Medication) required for RRTs
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Compliance with facility dress code, standards of conduct, and behavior policies
  • Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements must be completed prior to start

  • I9 or attestation required
  • E-Verify or attestation required
