Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina

Position Details

• Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday
• On-Call: Yes, rotation among staff members

  • Call hours: Monday-Friday 6:00 PM - 5:30 AM, weekends from Saturday 5:30 AM to Monday 5:30 AM
• Floating: No floating between units or sister facilities required
• Weekend Requirement: Possible if on call

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel experience as an MRI Technologist
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Includes SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education Verification: Required (diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder)
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30) or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
  • COVID vaccines highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
• Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required for patient-facing staff
• Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, business casual attire, no hats or sunglasses

Competency & Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
• Color blindness test required prior to start
• Competency exam required (Peds OR candidates may use regular OR competency exam if no pediatric experience)

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 4-6 hours) required before start
• First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay modules must be completed prior to orientation
• Upload COVID and flu vaccination documentation into facility system

Additional Notes

• Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
• All required documents (I9, Driver’s License, Social Security Card, etc.) must be submitted and verified prior to start
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
• Employment history verification of last 3 clinical employers required

This position is ideal for experienced MRI Technologists with prior travel contract experience looking for a 13-week assignment in a Level III Trauma hospital setting with a structured 4x10 schedule and on-call responsibilities.
