Travel Registered Nurse (MICU) - Columbus, Ohio

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (MICU)

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
• Shift: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts (may include days, nights, or combination based on department needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks but not guaranteed)
• Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics
• Patient Diagnoses: Oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleed, neuromuscular disease, drug overdose, oncologic treatment consequences, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, sepsis
• Special Procedures/Unit Details:

  • Mechanical ventilation
  • Pulmonary artery catheter placement
  • Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
  • Arterial pressure and cardiac monitoring
  • Chest tubes, central venous catheters
  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Complex medication regimens
  • Clinical trials
  • Plasmapheresis
  • Bronchoscopy and endoscopy for pulmonary and GI conditions

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Proficiency in ventilator management
• Skilled in IV starts
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
