Job Opportunity: Nurse Manager, Med/Surg Units

Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)

Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the medical/surgical units and the Joint Center. This role involves organizing and directing nursing staff and programs to ensure effective nursing services and quality standards are met through a multidisciplinary team approach. The manager supports professional nurses, patients, nursing students, and staff, holding 24/7 accountability for staff and students in the program.

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school
Current Massachusetts RN license
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience (higher value between 3-5 years and any other stated experience)
Previous supervisory experience in Medical/Surgical nursing required
Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Leadership skills and strong clinical competence, including proficiency in nursing and improvement processes
Excellent interpersonal, team building, collaboration, negotiation, problem solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader or Nursing Administration
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or currently enrolled in an MSN program
Experience developing a Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) or similar nursing university/hospital collaborative program

Prior Travel Experience

Not specified / not required

This position reports to the Clinical Director, Medical/Surgical Services and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
