• Position does not float between units
• On-call required: Yes, up to 2 weekends and 2 week night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Scrub all surgical procedures

Schedule & Work Conditions

• On-call shifts required (up to 2 weekends and 2 week nights)
• Block scheduling required
• No floating between units
• Scrubbing all surgical procedures

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations & Health Documents:

  • TDAP within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Fit Mask Test: Required for travel candidates, updated annually
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for travel candidates, updated annually
• References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
• Skills Checklist: Required and must be updated annually

Facility & System Specific Requirements

• Must complete Providence Health and Services system and regional WorkRamp training modules prior to start (including specialty-specific and regulatory modules)
• Epic training modules required and must be completed shortly after orientation
• Photo for badge with neutral background required
• Float Policy Acknowledgement required (may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
• State-specific background and registry checks as applicable (Oregon and Washington)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be able to start on 3/16 (no exceptions)
• Parking: No fee
• Scrub color: Any color allowed; OR/Cath Lab scrubs provided

This position is ideal for Certified Surgical Technologists with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable with on-call shifts and block scheduling in a busy acute care teaching hospital environment.
