Job Opportunity: Pediatric Dietitian (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Registered Dietitian needed for Pediatric Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility
• Must have pediatric experience with enteral nutrition
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), including experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients, including pediatric enteral nutrition
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Certifications & Training

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA only
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - as applicable
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (if applicable)
• Other certifications may be required based on unit/job description

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including all states lived/worked in past 7 years
• Statewide and nationwide checks including sex offender registry
• Education verification (proof of diploma or degree from accredited program)
• Virginia State Police fingerprinting required for Pediatrics units
• Central Registry Search (CPS) required for Pediatrics units
• Drug testing within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant screens not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Q-gold/T-spot or PPD)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella titers with booster if low titer
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella titer with booster if low titer
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required (no declinations accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
• Completion of orientation modules and competency exams as assigned
• Completion of abuse reporting competency covering physical/sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect/exploitation of vulnerable adults
• Completion of required facility-specific safety and confidentiality agreements
• Two professional references required
• Complete application/resume required

• Performance evaluations will be completed at end of assignment, not required prior to start

This position is ideal for a Pediatric Dietitian with at least 2 years of pediatric experience, especially with enteral nutrition, who is comfortable working in a pediatric LTAC setting and using Epic. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and certifications is mandatory.
