Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Cambridge, Ohio
Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12 hour shifts (1845-0715), every other weekend and holiday
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care, Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care, or Certificate of Program Completion in Respiratory Care
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Job Details

• Permanent address must be greater than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Night shift schedule with every other weekend and holiday coverage

Required Documents and Compliance

• Background check: 7-year history including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (marijuana tested, no medical marijuana exemptions)
• Physical exam: Must be completed within 2 years of start, indicating clearance to work without restrictions
• Respirator Fit Test: Documentation within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months of start
  • Required vaccinations or proof of immunity for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption required by specified deadlines
• Competency exams: Medication test/pharmacology, unit-specific competency, and EKG/dysrhythmia competency exams as applicable
• Fingerprinting: Required onsite or via approved locations prior to or on first day of orientation
• Various facility-specific agreements and acknowledgments must be completed prior to start

Certifications and Competencies

• BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
• National certification verification: NBRC-RRT required (cannot be CRT)
• Competency exams must be current within 2 years of start date

Additional Notes

• Facility carries latex-free gloves and can accommodate latex allergies
• Fit testing is not available onsite and must be completed prior to start (except Rehab Hospital assignments)
• OhioHealth requires fingerprint clearance prior to or on first day of orientation; delays may affect start date
• Candidates must comply with OhioHealth’s policies on drug screening, background checks, and immunizations
