Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab

Position Details

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Cath/EP procedures (defaulting to the higher requirement)
• Licensure & Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN): BLS, ACLS
• Skills:

  • Experience with Cath Lab patient types including diagnostics, interventional procedures, femoral and radial approaches, IFR, FFR, balloon pumps
  • Critical care experience (ED or ICU) preferred for RN
  • Experience with balloon pumps and temporary pacers
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Work Environment & Patient Types

• Cath Lab with 2 rooms: 1 EP/Cath room, 1 Cath Lab
• Patient types include diagnostics, interventional cardiology, pacemakers, AICS, loop recorders, diagnostic EP, right-sided ablations
• Average of 4 cases per day
• 24/7, 365 STEMI Program requiring teamwork, strong communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and willingness to teach and educate others

Schedule & Call

• Weekend rotation: Call only
• On-call schedule: Approximately 50% call per month, including multiple weeknights and full weekends (Friday end of shift through Monday morning)
• Weekday on-call hours: 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Holiday call required

Support & Technology

• Department support includes receptionist/HUC, respiratory therapy, hospitalist
• Technology used: EPIC EMR, Maclab hemodynamic system (travelers do not monitor cases), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Manifold contrast system, GE C-arms

Additional Information

• Floating: Limited to rooms within the department and pre-op area
• Orientation provided for facility and unit
• Scrub color provided; leads available but bringing own recommended
