Job Opportunity: OR Registered Nurse (RN Surgery) - Travel Assignment

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have 2 years of OR experience in a busy OR department.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is required.
  • On-call requirement:
    • One night every 2 weeks
    • One weekend every 6 weeks
  • Work hours:
    • Day shift from 06:45 to 15:15
    • Five 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with possible extended hours depending on case load

Required Qualifications

  • Current and valid RN license for Illinois.
  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in OR nursing.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
  • NIHSS certification.
  • Must pass the following exams with a score of 80% or higher:
    • Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam
    • Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening
    • Prime Specialty Exam
    • Prime Core Competencies Exam
  • Annual Respirator Fit Test (must be completed prior to start for Illinois).
  • Required immunizations and health screenings:
    • COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses plus booster or declination)
    • MMR (proof of vaccination or immunity)
    • Hepatitis B vaccine
    • Influenza vaccine (or declination during flu season)
    • TB test within one year of start date
    • Varicella vaccination or immunity
    • Tdap vaccination
  • National Criminal Background Check within one year of start date.
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
  • Social Security Card or Passport (passport accepted in lieu of SS card).
  • Physical/Health Statement completed annually.
  • Prime Agency Attestation and other onboarding documentation as required.

  • Onboarding includes drug screening (minimum 10-panel test including THC), background checks, and various attestations.
