Travel Registered Nurse (CVPICU) - Omaha, Nebraska

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with cardiac ICU and pediatric experience for a travel contract position in a pediatric cardiac ICU unit.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac ICU and pediatrics
  • Unit accepts first-time travelers (prior travel experience not required)

Patient Population & Unit Details

  • Patient Diagnoses: Post-op open hearts, single ventricles, complex cardiac anatomy/physiology, heart transplant, heart failure
  • Unit Beds: 32
  • Average Daily Census: 21
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
  • Special Procedures: Invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, ART, RA, etc.), ECMO & CRRT exposure or experience, vasopressors, cardiac drips, sedation drips

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Licensure

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Nebraska

Required Qualifications & Compliance

  • Valid RN license in Nebraska
  • Minimum 2 years of CVPICU experience, including experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience working with pediatric patients

Additional Notes

  • The unit accepts first-time travelers; prior travel experience is not required.
  • Candidates must complete a facility-specific Cognito form prior to start.
  • Compliance with all background checks, health documents, and certifications is mandatory before starting the assignment.
